Stitches

I thought I could roar,

When the odds are against me,

Thought I could be the fire,

Warming up in cold.

Never realized,

I’ll lose my vision

On a foggy morning.

Thought I was a queen.

summoning my troubles out.

Thought I was brave enough,

To withstand the storm every night.

Never believed

I’ll shiver,

Under the blanket,

Cold with the tears of my loss.

I know,

I thought of the impossible.

Of a burning sky,

On a snowy night.

But no matter the odds,

The falls down the road,

I’ll never give up on believing.

For my mamma said,

The world may try

to cut you down,

But you’ll always be ready

with the stitches.
