I’m Trouble

I was laying on the ground,

With cherry in my mouth,

When I found myself,

Lying to the crowd.

The tears broke me down,

But so did your words,

Oh honey!

This life keeps

Burning me up.

There’s a sound in me,

Tells me I’m trouble.

Sharing lies,

Asking me to crumble.

I’ve got the blues with me,

Radio and some liquor,

The rains pouring down,

My future’s starting to flicker.

The night’s freezing,

And So is my mind.

I tried calling you,

Too many times a day,

I keep staring at the phone,

Hoping you’ll pick today.

But oh!

I know it’s sad,

My ears would never hear

Your voice.

Your shadow still,

Lingers in my mind,

But the truth dear,

is that I know

you’ll never be mine.

At the end,

I am laying on the ground,

With sunlight on my side,

But oh!

I find myself,

Alone in the crowd.
